Spunalloys is the UK's leading producer of ferrous and non-ferrous centrifugal castings. Spunalloys can produce centrifugally spun castings from a vast array of plain and flanged dies up to 2m in diameter and 3m in length. We offer proof machined castings but also offer finish machining of components in our on-site machine shop. The centrifugal process is used to cast cylindrical items, either vertically or horizontally depending on the overall shape and size of the unit. The very high centrifugal forces generated during casting up to 12 tonnes lead to very dense structures and properties, comparable to forged metal products.

Typical applications for centrifugal castings include cylinders for compressors, engine liners, valve and pump components, propulsion and launch systems and rings and seals for gas turbines.
